    Injections

Some patients with spinal problems may have nerve root compression leading to inflammation, and this inflammation does not reduce by medicines or rest, ( can be due to multiple factors like size of the compression, duration and location). In such cases rather than continuing with the Conservative line of treatment we consider Injections in and around the spine.

These injections are called “ Blocks”, in simple terms these block the pain pathway in the nerve roots. These are  steroid based injections and are administered in the Operation theatre under aseptic conditions.

This injections are generally very safe and do not cause any adverse effects. It is done without anesthesia, under image guidance

The injection reduces the inflammation and the benefit can sometimes be upto 4-6 months
